Hey David, please excuse me for just blurting out the last thing on my mind at the end of your talk, thinking it to be more clever and wise then it was, and not being directly relevant. I was a little giddy from all the light bulbs going off in my head over the past few days.
I absolutely think you are on track. From my perspective, all the pieces seem to fit together perfectly. I started reading The six Pillars again right after I watched your Totalism presentation and it was as if Brandon was describing, my family, my friends, and me perfectly, in far more detail as to the underlying motives behind every act, than I could ever even begin to imagine. I read the book pretty early in my journey with far less comprehension. I know now, with more experience, I would have definitely got more out of it anyway, but I also think with the opposing perspective you laid out from the totalist's side, it has a much more holistic depth of meaning for me. I can see how the whole culture I was raised in was designed to diminish self-esteem, making it and each one of us, ripe, for all the tactics you described to have maximum effect.
I agree, I was just attempting to point out a twisted kind of irony. How they have figured out how to use the very thing they lack(which causes their need to try to control us), as their weapon against us. As I think about it more, It has always been the basis of how they have manipulated us, in thousands of different ways. Davids last two episodes have served to greatly clarify this fact in my mind.
